Known as the ‘Peoples Wine’ and originally a northern Italian variety. It is a medium bodied, fruity wine with vibrant colours and aromatics of red cherries, hints of strawberries and spices. It has low tannins and refreshing acidity on the palate.

Matured in seasoned oak for 13 months, it is an enjoyable young wine, but will cellar well and continue to improve for another 5 – 10 years.

This wine pairs well with chorizo, prosciutto and cheese.

Blewitt Springs Wine Co. in McLaren Vale, SA

Our vineyard is set in the undulating hills of the McLaren Vale wine growing region, and in close proximity to the sea, Mt Lofty ranges and less than an hour from Adelaide CBD. Blewitt Springs is home to some of the oldest vines in the region, has the highest altitude, highest rainfall and coolest winters of the valley.

Our organic viticulture practices and use of minimal water results in lower fruit yields, but the flavours are more intense and fruit quality is far higher.

Set in picturesque Blewitt Springs, just 40 minutes south of Adelaide, our quiet rural area will captivate you with stunning views across our vineyard and out to the Kuitpo ranges and surrounding vineyards.

In 2020, Blewitt Springs Wine Co was awarded Top 10 best new winery from James Halliday.
