Description

Our Winifred Barbera is named after Wendy’s Mother.  This wine has smoky and earthy undertones of sour cherry on the nose and mild oak influence is revealed.  The palate shows substantial fruit weight distinctive to the unique varietal and overall the wine has good body , healthy tannins with a powerful lingering finish.

The 2017 Barbera is the most common varietals grown in the Piedmont region of Italy.  It has been grown in Australia since the 1960’s. Cuttings were sourced from a vine improvement agency with possible cuttings from Montrose at Mudgee, now owned by the Oatley Family.
