Grand Barossa Shiraz epitomises the premium international reputation for Shiraz which has made the Barossa Valley famous.

Lifted aromas of blackberry, plum and black pepper are accompanied by spicy, dark berry fruits on the palate.
Winemaking

All of the grapes are fermented in small batches to retain their sub-regional characters. After destemming, the wine ferments for 7 days on skins in small open fermenters. We hand plunge twice daily to encourage maximum extraction yet retaining the dense, spicy fruit flavours which Barossa Shiraz is renowned for.

The wine is gently pressed before spending 18 months in a combination of new and seasoned French and American oak barrels in our cellars.

‘Grand Barossa’ is a lofty title perhaps, but the wine lives up to it. this Shiraz spends 18 months in a mix of new and older French and American oak. After destemming, the grapes see a period of time on skins in small open fermenters with twice daily hand plunging.

Opaque magenta in colour. Dusty chocolate dominates, this is ripe and concentrated. We see flavours of plums and cassis emerge with the merest hint of pepper. The texture is supple and seductive. The flavours on the palate move more to coffee beans and cloves. Fine tannins, good balance, decent length, this is cracking value. Drink now and for the next 6 years

This is gorgeously ripe and fragrant on the nose with black/blueberry, rich floral, vanilla and spicy oak characters, followed by a wonderfully weighted palate offering succulent fruit flavours with fleshy texture and silky tannins, making it highly enjoyable. At its best: now to 2033.

The Grand Barossa range has always represented great value for those seeking a classic Barossan wine. Everything is here. The rich dark and black fruits, the earth and dark chocolate tones and highlights of purple flowers and raspberry coulis. Medium-weight and flavourful with fine-grained tannin and bright acid drive adding to the appeal.
