Bright and lively with green edges!

Generous bouquet of bright lemon and lime blossom, fresh cut dew-melon and orange. The aromatics are subdued in youth yet become more expressive with time in the glass.

Citrus florals welcome the palate to an explosion of bright and tight acid – giving the wine its characteristic Watervale tangy lemon and lime blossom bouquet. The cooler conditions of the 2022 ripening season producing wonderfully bright all natural acid Riesling. Delicate and yet powerful. The finish is moreish with gently textural, slate and chalky acidity elements and moderate length which will develop further with time in bottle.

We have a wonderful resource of in excess of 50 acres of Watervale Riesling of varying age plantings – the youngest vines in their 20’s and the oldest pushing 80 odd years. Sites are located both north and south of the township with the southern locales bringing a slightly warmer fruit profile to this blend; as the valley opens up south of Watervale so these vines bear fruit with beautifully forward primary fruit flavour. Blended from parcels across our three sites this is a true expression of regionality of the most noble white variety.

About Claymore Wines

Just over 20 years ago, Claymore Wines was humbly established with small volumes of Grenache and Riesling from a single vineyard in Penwortham. Since then, the estate has grown to include additional varietals and 44 hectares across three additional vineyards in Watervale.

At Claymore Wines, we enjoy bringing together life’s passions – wine, music, and football to create the ultimate experience. We pride ourselves on producing premium Clare Valley wines using the best fruit from our vineyards, but when it comes to enjoying a glass we don’t take ourselves too seriously.
