In Diez-Caballero we pride ourselves on producing extraordinary wines from our own estate-grown grapes.
The quality of Diez-Caballero´s wines has always been based on a commitment to selecting the finest fruit. Following the formula of the traditional Bordeaux Châteaux –relatively rare in Rioja-, our wines are made exclusively from grapes grown in our own vineyards and under our control.
This requires a significant investment of time and money in vineyard management under the supervision of Antonio Diez-Caballero; but our 25ha planted with tempranillo results in a higher level of quality that clearly comes through in the final wine.
Strict pruning and respectful growing practices achieve a perfect blend at the service of our commitment to quality.
Our concrete wine tanks and the use of modern winemaking techniques help to capture the essence of our vineyard in the glass. Diez-Caballero’s goal is to harvest when the flavors have reached their peak and the tannins are at their softest.
By affection, we have been seduced by the beauty of our old winery of Elciego Primicia representing the last vestige of the rich winemaking tradition .The situation of this cellar excavated in ancient slabs of San Roque, its fretwork, and their slopes has been our challenge and our victory.
L’Atelier by Aramis Vineyards was founded in 2012, dedicated to supplying a hand-selected range of quality wines to the independent on and off trade. From small beginnings we now operate across NSW, QLD, VIC and WA as well as in our home state of South Australia. Our distribution company was founded on our absolute belief that there was nobody better to represent our McLaren Vale brand than our own team. From that point our mission was clear - to bring together a collection of wine that would complement and match the quality of our own, and to present these to premium retail and hospitality trade across Australia. We believe in working collaboratively with carefully selected producers from Australia and beyond, each sharing the same passion and commitment to quality. Inspired by the Ateliers of 19th century Paris, we see ourselves as a meeting place for highly talented craftspeople at the top of their trade. Our portfolio consists of premium boutique wines from across Australia, New Zealand, Italy and Spain, all carefully selected to represent the very essence of their region, but most importantly at approachable price-points. We do not aim to build a trophy cabinet, we believe that you do not have to spend a fortune to drink like a king, and our selection reflects our ability to seek out wines that consistently over-deliver and represent the very best value.
