2019 vintage is in line with the top vintages of the decade. After a nice winter, spring came slowly, where our famous wind “Mistral” helped keep very healthy environments in the vineyard during that important growing season. The last week of June, Rhône Valley vineyards went through a heat wave with temperatures above 45°C (113 °F).

Fortunately, our biodynamic sprays of horn dungs, silicas, chamomiles, nettles and essential oils, combined with the good water reserve of the soils from 2018, helped the vines to continue their growth in great conditions. Thanks to August and September gentle rains we were able to pick beautiful grapes, healthy and balanced.

TERROIR
The vines flourish in a stony limestone clay soil and find their full expression thanks to certified organic and biodynamic agriculture.

Wild yeasts, co-fermentation, temperature control, soft extractions and a short maturing period to preserve the delicacy of the fruit.

Our Côtes du Rhône 2019 offers a delicate and supple texture, a deep and juicy fruit with refreshing notes of Provencal herbs for an immediate pleasure.

About Domaine de Beaurenard

In the 14th century, during their stays in Avignon, the popes – and especially Pope John XXII – built a papal castle in Châteauneuf-du-Pape. Impressed by the area’s exceptional soils, they established vineyards on the slopes surrounding the château and were instrumental in promoting the local wine’s reputation around the world.

Domaine de Beaurenard in Châteauneuf-du-Pape has been a family-run estate for seven generations. A notarial act dated 16 December 1695 mentions “Bois Renard”, which over time has become “Beaurenard”.

Terroir
The pebbles the 13 grape varieties the sun and the Mistral have been joining forces for centuries to give birth to each vintage of the Châteauneuf du Pape appellation. The terroir of Châteauneuf-du-Pape is unique: here the large sun-warmed stones diffuse a gentle, providential heat that helps the grapes to mature and their juice to concentrate.

The Domaine is home to the ” Symphony of 13 varieties” typical of this AOC, which provide aromatic complexity, strength and balance.
