Domaine de l’Agramante Cuvee M’arricriu Cotes du Rhone Rouge 2022 (6 Bottles) Rhone Valley, France

The Cuvee M’arricriu is a blend on Grenache, Syrah, Cinsault and Counoise born from organic vines in the Rhone Valley.

‘M’arricriu’ translates to “I enjoy the life” in the Sicilian dialect, and if you buy this, so will you.

It’s a wine that is deceptively serious for the price point. The fruit is bright red and succulent from first sip. But underneath, a sheath of silty, moreish tannin makes it a little more serious than you may expect.

Top value from this region given the small scale, hands on production. A new cult favourite for your hit list.

About Domaine de l’Agramante

L’Agramente organically farms under five hectares of pre- established bush vines covering Grenache, Cinsault, Syrah, and a high proportion of Counoise. Brightness, liveliness and perfume can be qualities hard to come by in the Côtes-du-Rhône, yet that’s exactly what we love about these wines.

Young Sicilian petrochemical engineer, Carlo La Rocca, had something of mid-life crisis in 2018.

At the theoretical half-way point in his life, he knew he didn’t want to spend the rest of his life “in a jar”. Wine was where his heart was. So he followed it. He followed it all the way to the Rhone Valley to being his second life.

He purchased a stamp-sized plot under vine in the town of Sabran and committed from day one to farm it without any synthetic sprays. With a little help from his friends at Mas de Libian, he has launched a small, boutique label that is taking flight.

The wines are bright, energetic examples of the Rhone with excellent tannin underlying the pure, delicious fruit. Domaine de l’Agramante is a name to watch.

Fine Wine Cellars

On the one hand, our role as a merchant of all things wine & spirits could not be simpler. We aim to source the most delicious, the most authentic, and the highest quality products possible from Australia and around the world in order to offer them to our clients. We live or die by how well we perform this task. Of course things are rarely as simple or as easy as they seem. Hunting for wines & spirits is no different. Apart from the months spent travelling, countless days and evenings spent tasting and the outrageous wine expenditure in the name of ‘research’, sourcing quality wine and spirits requires expertise and experience. Understanding the potential of a producer and their products is much more than just a slurp and a spit.
