Beautiful ruby colour. This wine has pleasant, fresh, red-fruit aromas on the nose, which we also savour on the palate. It has rich and very ripe substance, with fine round tannins. It’s a very well-structured and pleasant wine.

ABOUT DOMAINE FAIVELEY
Based in Nuits-St-Georges, the famous Domaine Faiveley was founded in 1825 and in more recent times, the domaine has greatly expanded its vineyards across the entire Côte d’Or. The grapes are entirely destemmed and fermented in a mix of new wooden vats for the top end wines and stainless steel for the lesser cuvees.

Once notorious for being fairly austere, there has been less emphasis on extraction over the last ten years and the wines show increased freshness, purity of fruit and more judicious use of oak. A contender for one of the most improved domaines in Burgundy over the last decade.

THE VINTAGE
2019 is a fresh and well-balanced vintage. Volumes are low although the quality isoutstanding. Characterised by extreme weather conditions and perfectly healthy and aromaticgrapes, 2019 saw weak rainfalls (-50% less than usual), several frosts spells in April/Mayfollowed by heatwave in summer. The harvests began on Monday 9 September in the Côtechalonnaise and came to an end on the 21 September in the Côte de Nuits.

WINEMAKING
Domaine Faiveley vinifies it Bourgogne Pinot Noir from grapes grown in the domain’svineyards as well as selected grapes and musts from its partner winemakers.

A quality controlis made on each plot we have reserved so that we can check the quality of the grapes and theprofessionalism of our winegrowers partners. The wine is partly aged in vats and partly in French oak barrels for 12 to 14 months in ourcellars in Nuits-Saint-Georges.
