Description

Fruit
The Chardonnay fruit is sourced from a small single estate vineyard in Yallingup Siding within the Margaret River Wine Region of Western Australia. The vines produced at approximately 5t/ha and were harvested in early February when the grapes were fresh with a good acid content, ideal for a sparkling base.

Maturation
A portion of the base wine was fermented in French oak barrels contributing a degree of complexity to the base wine. Secondary fermentation proceeded in the bottles in the traditional method. The wine was aged for 54 months on the lees before riddling, disgorging and dosage in late 2019. The bottles are sealed with a Diam cork and muselet.

Colour
A clear straw colour with a very fine, long lasting fine bead

Bouquet
The wine lifts from the glass with a lovely bouquet of savoury roasted almond and brioche characters.

Palate
The fine creamy mousse delivers gentle nutty characters followed by a tart citrusy element. The palate is clean and beautifully textured with a lingering finish that encourages just another taste!

Cellaring Potential
The wine affords excellent drinking now!

Overall
A beautifully balanced sparkling, in the crisp aperitif style. 12.5% alc/vol; 3 g/l sugar.

Matching Cuisine
This wine is an excellent aperitif, but easily compliments late breakfasts, lazy lunches and light dinners!

Firetail Wines, Rosa Glen WA

Roje Estates produces premium varietal wines from estate grown grapes in Margaret River and Geographe. Our winemaking starts with our fruit. The vines receive the fastidious attention of the vineyard workers throughout the year and we work hard at balancing the vines to produce the best quality grapes with the most intense flavours.

In early 2010, we opened a small cellar door to the public at our Rosa Glen vineyard in the Margaret River. With an emphasis on wood where local Jarrah is teamed with French oak from barrels used to age our wines, the cellar door like our wines is hand crafted, stylish and pretty special.

Do visit to meet either Rob or Jessica, taste our wines, refresh with a tea or coffee and enjoy the space with us. We are at 21 Bessell Road and we are open 7 days a week from 11am to 5pm
