Dense, deep red colour. The nose is concentrated yet fragrant with dark fruit aromas, complex, focused and very expressive. On the palate again concentration without being heavy. An elegant Pinot Noir with beautiful transparency, excellent structure and tension and very fine tannin support in the finish, reflecting one of our most exciting vintages since 2010.

Tasted over three days this wine deserves to be cellared reaching its full aroma package towards day three. Scents of black berry and black currant woven between barreal spice and mineral nuances. There’s a distinctive sense of place with this wine showcasing a mix of mienral earth and savoury spices along with red berry fruits. Delicious on the palate with fine to moderate textures, taut and youthful mouthfeel delivering ripe chalky tannins then fruit and mineral . A complex and engaging wine with a lovely fine even finish. Best drinking from 2024 through 2034/

Stylish and enticing, the bouquet shows ripe cherry, thyme, roasted nut and tapenade aromas, followed by a concentrated palate that’s gracefully silky and flowing. Beautifully layered with complex flavours and textured mouthfeel, finishing superbly long and satisfying. At its best: now to 2034.

27 Sep, 2022 – Gorgeous nose of wild blackberries, raspberries, cloves, sandalwood and bark. Some iodine, too. Sleek and seductive on the palate with very finely integrated tannins. Very attractive saline edge to the wild dark berry fruit. Drink or hold.

FROMM

FROMM have always loved Pinot Noir and showed both faith and foresight that it could thrive in Marlborough, planting Pinot vines in 1990. Their first attempt at the variety validated this belief with International success and acclaim and consequently helped put both Fromm and Marlborough on the international Pinot Noir map.

From here the region’s Pinot industry bloomed and is now easily New Zealand’s largest Pinot Noir producing area. Fromm, though, has remained staunchly boutique choosing to produce no more than 7,000 cases a year.

With a quality without compromise attitude Fromm also makes fine examples of Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Gris, Riesling, Syrah and Rosé. All the wines are certified organic through BioGro.
