Certified by BioGro New Zealand, our Giesen Organic Sauvignon Blanc delivers a full-bodied, generous wine.

Theo, Alex & Marcel Giesen believe they have a responsibility to be kind to the land, to nurture it for future generations.

20% of Giesen’s owned vineyards are organic or in transition. It is our viticulture practice to use organic philosophy throughout all of our viticulture management on all of our vineyards, not just our certified organic vineyards.

We see organics as being about improving our soil structure and helping the soil to hold onto water and nutrients. If the land is continually replenished, the soil will be healthy, so will the plants and the fruit.

This organic Sauvignon Blanc is from the Wairau Valley, from our Dillons Point and Stump Creek certified organic vineyards, along with fruit from certified organic growers.

Winemaking
We follow organic winemaking practices. Use a small amount of oak (approx 10%) and use wild yeast to add texture and complexity.

Giesen Wines own 13 vineyards, of which 11% are certified organic with BioGro New Zealand. They have been strategically acquired throughout the highly sought after Wairau Valley and maintain strong long-term relationships with some of the Valley’s best growers. This gives us a range of grape growing conditions which ensures we consistently have the finest grapes from the region each vintage.

Giesen wines have been peeling away the layers and exploring the purity of organic flavour. Three years in the making, the Giesen Brothers have produced their first organic alternative to the traditional Marlborough sauvignon blanc. The palate has delicious fruit weight and zesty flavours and gives a taste of what nature intended, one of which nature has grown.
