This wine has an abundance of bright, light cherry fruit and mint aromas. This is the second year in a row that our Sangiovese has produced such pretty, lifted bright cheery and berry fruit characters.

Sangiovese naturally has lovely delicate tannins (often called light and chalky by winemakers) which really help this light bodied wine linger and adds a savoury note. It’s that savoury dry finish that reminds you that Sangiovese is a great food wine: especially good with Italian food.

Description

The Indigo Vineyard is located near the hamlet of Everton in the foothills of the Victorian Alps. The region enjoys beautiful views, fine dining, wonderful local produce, historic Beechworth streetscapes and is recognised for outstanding Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon.

The hot days and cool nights, granitic sand and clay loam soils and a location in foothills of the Victorian Alps combine to create an amazing terroir for growing super premium grapes.

Located between Beechworth and Wangaratta, the Indigo Vineyard has 46 hectares planted to 11 different varieties of grapes.

The vineyard soils range from granitic sands to clay loams. Most of the vineyard is undulating North-South and East facing. This ensures maximum light interception, but minimises the harsh afternoon summer sun.
