Pinot Gris Joseph Cattin enjoys an extraordinary aromatic complexity. Spicy and smoky, it accompanies well dishes with pronounced flavors such as game, roasts, prawns and foie-gras. In Alsace, it is traditionally enjoyed with Baeckeoffe.

Viticulture
Limited yields. Guyot pruning, with 5 500 vines per ha on average. Sustainable farming practices to preserve the richness of our terroirs.
Winemaking: Gentle pressing of the grapes. Fermentation between 18 and 22℃.
Appearance: bright, light gold.
Nose: fruity aromas such as apricots, a hint of honey and beeswax.
Palate: half dry style; balanced between spiciness and a light touch of fruitiness; fresh finish.
Serving: Delicious for aperitif, this Pinot Gris usually pairs with white meats like porc and lacquered meats (such as the Peking duck). In Alsace, it is traditionally enjoyed with Baeckeoffe (a delicious stew composed of meat, potatoes, and carrots). Serving Temperature: 8-10℃.

About Joseph Cattin
The Cattin family established in Alsace in 1720 and immediately started to grow vines. Today the family (Jacques Cattin Sr, Jacques Cattin Jr and Jean-Marie Cattin) owns a bit more than 60ha of vines; and are one of the largest family-owned wineries in Alsace.
Because the vineyards lie on the foothills of the Vosges, the altitude of the plots varies from 200 to 400m. Most of them face the south-east and thus get maximum sunlight, which makes the grapes incomparably ripe and complex.
Bacchus Wine Merchant is a well-known, respected, family-owned wine distribution company established in 2001 by Jo Newton who is still the Managing Director today.
Over the past 15 Years our tremendous growth has allowed us to expand our distribution into Queensland and Victoria. From humble beginnings, Jo ran the company from her spare bedroom in Cremorne, to now, with over 15 employees in 3 states.
