Viticulture
Limited yields in order to produce wines with high quality. Guyot pruning, with 5 500 vines per ha on average. The operation follows the principal of sustainable farming with the respect for the environment in order to preserve the richness of terroir and guarantee the harvest of optimal quality.
Winemaking
Gentle pressing of the berries in order to preserve the characters of the variety. Fermentation under the temperature between 18 and 22 degrees. Ageing in the cellar for several months in order to reveal all the varietal characteristics associated with the features of its terroir.
Appearance: clear, pale lemon yellow with light green hues.
Nose: clean and elegant mineral aromas with citrus aromas (grapefuit).
Palate: fresh, dry and mineral, with grapefuit character.
Serving This Riesling goes well with fish, shellfish and raw food. It can also be enjoyed with white fish and fresh goat cheese. Traditionally in Alsace, it is enjoyed with garnished choucroute!

About Joseph Cattin
The Cattin family established in Alsace in 1720 and immediately started to grow vines. Today the family (Jacques Cattin Sr, Jacques Cattin Jr and Jean-Marie Cattin) owns a bit more than 60ha of vines; and are one of the largest family-owned wineries in Alsace.
Because the vineyards lie on the foothills of the Vosges, the altitude of the plots varies from 200 to 400m. Most of them face the south-east and thus get maximum sunlight, which makes the grapes incomparably ripe and complex.
Bacchus Wine Merchant is a well-known, respected, family-owned wine distribution company established in 2001 by Jo Newton who is still the Managing Director today.
Over the past 15 Years our tremendous growth has allowed us to expand our distribution into Queensland and Victoria. From humble beginnings, Jo ran the company from her spare bedroom in Cremorne, to now, with over 15 employees in 3 states.
