Its yellow in colour with hints of green and gold show its fine bubbles in a lovely light. The nose opens on white blossom then citrus, before developing pleasant buttery and brioche notes. About `Louis Bouillot`

Founded in 1877 by Jean Bouillot the estate of Louis Bouillot is a specialist Crémant de Bourgogne producer now run by Jean-Claude Boisset and it produces a range of excellent Méthode Traditionnelle sparkling wines from sites across the Côte d’Or.

The Crémant de Bourgogne appellation was officially created in 1975 and the domaine, based in Nuits-St-Georges, produces great value sparkling wines that provide a great alternative to Champagne, from the vivid pinot Noir fruit of the Perle Bourgogne Mousseux Rouge to their lively and complex Perle de Vigne Grand Reserve.

About Burgundy

Burgundy is an Appellation d’origine contrôlée (AOC, or controlled designation of origin) wine region set across the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes and Bourgogne-Franche-Comté administrative regions, running roughly 200 km north of Lyon, in the central-east of France. There is a saying that once you start to fall under wine’s spell, that all roads will lead you to Burgundy.

It is here that Chardonnay and Pinot Noir manifest in the glass with the most transparency; with the most succinct sense of place. Burgundy is home to some of the most sought after and revered estates in the world of wine, and the mere mention of famous vineyard names such as Chambertin, Musigny and La Romanée Conti make the eyes of wine-lovers light. From the sapid wines of Chablis in the north to the delicious Gamay from Beaujolais in the south, Burgundy is perhaps the most famous wine region in the world and for good reason.
