Medium bodied, bright and packed with juicy red fruit, packed with those signature varietal Sagrantino tannins. Powerful and deliciously chewy, they provide a framework around the fleshy and pure fruit, giving the wine a platform to age for many years.

Crunchy red currant and tart blood plum unfold to brambly blackberry flavours, turned earth and charcuterie, all framed by dusty, structural tannins. It is savoury and taut rather than plush and succulent. There’s tremendous depth of flavour in this fragrant, firmly structured medium to full bodied beauty, with the fine and persistent acidity highlighting its rustic and earthy charm.

Located at the southern end of McLaren Vale, about 4km east of the coastal town of Port Willunga, the soil here is heavy grey loam mixed with black Biscay clay and sits above ancient Gnaltinga formation bedrock. Strong vine growth in spring is tempered by summers dry winds, developing pure, bright and savoury fruit flavours that are tempered by cooling afternoon sea breezes.
