The wine shows vibrant pear and white peach aromas and flavours and a well-balanced crisp yet generous texture; modelled in the classic Italian style, with just a touch of fruit sweetness backed by bright acidity and a lengthy punch of fruit flavour!

Mr. Mick Pinot Grigio follows the core philosophy of our range of wines, quite simply an ‘easy-going’ wine that creates interest and satisfies many palates.

The climate and soils of the Limestone Coast wine region enable us to produce Pinot Grigio very similar to the grape’s origin in Italy. Fruit was harvested at peak flavour maturity from a single vineyard in the South Australian Mount Benson wine region. The juice was separated from skins, cold settled and carefully transported home to Clare before being fermented for 14 days.

A steady cool ferment ensures a focussed palate with strong varietal Pinot Grigio characteristics.

The 2021 ripening period was steady and moderate in temperature, allowing for development of maximum fruit expression.

Description

Mr Mick is named after K.H. (Mr Mick) Knappstein, a legend within the Australian winemaking industry.

One of Mr Mick’s passions in life was to make wines for everyone to enjoy, a tradition his last apprentice, local winemaker Tim Adams continues in his name. Today Tim and his wife Pam are proud custodians of this landmark property. Their wines are made from grapes grown in Clare Valley vineyards, with a style to suit every palate; and continue to follow Knappstein’s philosophy of making fresh, easy drinking, lifestyle wines.
