The Eccentric Uncle

The PIERRO Household would not be complete without beloved Uncle Pino’S. An elegantly slim gentleman, he invariably dresses in a weighty velvet jacket with a fine, silk cravat. His cologne leaves hints of briar and brambly aromas as he wanders about the room, gesticulating with expressive, aristocratic hands and bristling with his mustachios with pleasure at his own quick wit. He talks of red cherries and blackberries with a playful glint in his eye and a concentration that gives way to a bright, even vibrant personality. Delightful company in the moment, although he can occasionally benefit from a brief spell in the cellar… but don’t expect him to remember your name if you leave him down there for too long!

90% Pinot Noir
10% Shiraz
Handpicked, hand-sorted, gently destemmed and berry sorted. Fermented in small batches in the traditional manner with some whole bunches included in the ferment. Matured for 12 months in French oak.

PIERRO Pino’S 2017

Dark cherry, truffle and forest floor with spice and white pepper from the Shiraz. Medium bodied, blackcurrant fruit, chalky tannins and fine grained oak extend to a long finish.

Perfect with Chinese roast duck and BBQ’d meats, especially when served slightly chilled on those warm balmy evenings.
