Viticultural Notes: The grapes for this wine are Upper Yarra Valley from Genbrook. Gembrook is known for its volcanic derived red soils and a granite outcrop. These quartz rich soils are perfect for growing Pinot Noir and Chardonnay.
Dijon clones 114 and 115, ‘Dans les Bois’ translates to ‘In the Woods,’ as this incredible vineyard block is sheltered on all sides by natural forest.
The 2018 harvest will be remembered fondly by winemakers in the Yarra Valley. It was a rare season that gave above average yields and excellent quality fruit. Dry sunny conditions with cool overnight temperatures provided good natural acidity and concentrated wines at lower alcohol levels.
