Cabernet Sauvignon is Coonawarra’s pre-eminent grape variety. Parcels of premium fruit are selected, fermented and then aged in French oak barrels to produce this full bodied and richly flavoured wine.

This has greater depth and layers than its brethren across the range, loaded with the effect of 20 months in French oak (33% new). Aroma
Dense aromas of anise and blackcurrant dominate this wonderfully aromatic Coonawarra Cabernet, complexed by tobacco and sweet vanilla notes.

Palate
Beautifully textured tannins with lovely fine length, and an abundance of dark fruits with spice. Gorgeous and seductive.

Vintage Notes
A good even bud burst was followed by a very warm dry spring, earlier than normal flowering and very even berry set. Warm days and cool nights throughout Autumn, combined with light crops and small berries provided great conditions for concentrated, aromatic wines.

The Coonawarra and Cabernet combination is a gift from nature: an exceptional mix of natural elements – a cool climate and the perfect soil. Coonawarra’s Terra Rossa soil is unique, being a mixture of red clay and fertile loam overlaying deep limestone.

Great wines come from great grapes, and this is exemplified in our vineyards. Forty years old and growing strong. 140 hectares of sustainably grown vineyards are entirely on this precious terra rossa.

Cabernet isn’t our only strength as our vineyards also produce exceptional Shiraz, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay and Gewurztraminer.
