Shobbrook Sammion Semillon (6 Bottle) Flaxman Valley, SA

$250.00

AUSTRALIA WIDE SHIPPING INCLUDED

Named after my long time friend Sam our 2016 Sammion is back on the streets. Fermented with whole clusters before being squeezed and put into ceramic eggs to finish and age through the end of autumn and winter. Like the Giallo this wine is bottled with fine lees and will show some cloudiness in the glass. If this is a problem for you then you could always drink in the dark.

Such lovely old vines ranging from 60 to 105 years old, these vines have balance and you can see it in the glass. Lovely acidity from Semilion with the length coming from the old vines. The yellow orange clay under the 800mm of sand gives width throughout the mid pallet.

About Shobbrook Wines

After 12 years on his family’s Seppeltsfield vineyards Shobbrook can now be found tending his fledgling Organic farm in Flaxman Valley. Currently at two acres, the plan is to expand this to five while continuing to source fruit from likeminded growers and friends in Adelaide Hills and Barossa Valley.

Shobbrook is intrinsic to Australia’s Natural movement. The early days saw him touring the length of the country shaking up our industry with vigour, his visits, and the wines, were exciting, unprecedented and at times confronting, it was a wild ride for which we will are forever grateful.

Lovers of Natural wine should, and probably already do, drink these wines in abundance. Those intrigued by what the Natural wine movement has to offer should start here. These wines are exemplary.
