The Skillogalee Rosé is made from 100% dry-grown Clare Valley fruit. The blend composition is predominantly Cabernet Sauvignon with the remainder comprising Malbec. Hand-selected ripe fruit, harvested specifically for this wine, results in a stylish wine with intense fruit character and varietal expression.

All fruit was blended at the receival bin, destemmed and chilled to 5°C. To achieve the desirable level of colour and flavour extraction, the juice was left on skins for around 20 hours in the press. The free-run juice and light pressings are then cold-settled, racked and fermented cool to express the fruit characters of both the Malbec and Cabernet Sauvignon.

The wine shows a vibrant crimson with a purple tint. There are aromas of wild strawberries, blackcurrant, fresh cranberry and hints of rosewater. The palate is slick, fresh and lively with some natural acid backbone. There is a succulent balance of flavours that include cherry, Satsuma plum and raspberry.

This wine is best served chilled, especially during the warmer months and is a great match for many food styles, particularly duck and light meats, fresh seafood and contemporary Asian cuisine.

About Skillogalee

Skillogalee was established in 1970 with the first wines released in 1976. The 1978 dry riesling won major trophies at the Adelaide Wine Show and the National Wine Show, putting Skillogalee firmly on the Australian winemaking map.

The wines are produced exclusively from grapes grown on their own vineyards and styles include crisp dry whites (Riesling, Gewürztraminer and Chardonnay), a full flavoured Rosé, rich, full-bodied reds (Shiraz, Cabernet sauvignon and blends) and some luscious fortified wines.
