About Tatachilla
In 1903 in the burgeoning McLaren Vale region, Tatachilla was established as a collective. The one square mile vineyards was the largest vineyard in the Southern Hemisphere at the time. Tatachilla thrived in the early years as the industry boomed. It was one of central wineries in the region and the whole area around the winery and vineyard is still known as Tatachilla.
In the 1950’s as the industry slowed , the winery was shut down, only to be revived again in the 1990’s. It’s heart now resides in the Clarendon, in the elevated hills on the very northern edge of McLaren Vale.
