Hand-harvested from rows 1-10 of Toolangi’s A1 and D1 Blocks, the 2019 was naturally fermented with 10% whole bunches and 90% whole berries in both open and closed fermenters. It was then matured in French oak and spent 10 months on lees.

The result is a finely drawn, cool climate Shiraz with smoky charcuterie aromas layered with dried herbs and black fruits, a hint of restrained oak, pepper and spice. The palate is long and elegant, with a pristine core of dark berries and plums, tightly knit with gentle oak and supported by fine, dusty tannins. It finishes savoury with refreshing acidity. Great value.

“Value to be had here. It’s riddled with pepper-spice, it’s ripe, it’s savoury in large part but there’s more than enough fruit too. It’s also well balanced. If pepper-laden shiraz is to your liking then you’d be hard-pressed to find such a good example at such an easy-to-reach price. Recommended. Highly.” 93 points, Campbell Mattinson, The Wine Front

Fine Wine Cellars

On the one hand, our role as a merchant of all things wine & spirits could not be simpler. We aim to source the most delicious, the most authentic, and the highest quality products possible from Australia and around the world in order to offer them to our clients. We live or die by how well we perform this task. Of course things are rarely as simple or as easy as they seem. Hunting for wines & spirits is no different. Apart from the months spent travelling, countless days and evenings spent tasting and the outrageous wine expenditure in the name of ‘research’, sourcing quality wine and spirits requires expertise and experience. Understanding the potential of a producer and their products is much more than just a slurp and a spit.
