“Bright garnet hue with fresh flavours of cherry, raspberry, and sweet red apple mingled with intriguing scents of lilac, rosemary, pink peppercorn, and graphite. The wine has a heady perfume of delicate spice, florals, and ripe red fruit that delivers so intensely, making the elegant purity of the palate a wonderful segue.

The glowing acidity is in perfect harmony with the supple texture creating a persistent and dynamic flow that gives the sensation of wine dancing in the glass. Often the cooler growing seasons capture the true essence of Gibbston – this vintage articulates the poise, grace, and uniqueness of Pinot Noir from this tiny subregion, when words simply fall short. Drink now until 2033″ Jen Parr

About VALLI

At VALLI, we craft terroir-driven wines from Single Vineyard sites highlighting the different grape-growing regions of Central Otago and the Waitaki Valley on the South Island of New Zealand. While our foundation is Pinot Noir, we also produce wines from Pinot Gris, Riesling, and Chardonnay. Creating expressions of the Otago sub-regions is at the very heart of what we do: wine is simply the medium we employ to do so.

Valli is the creation of pioneering Otago winemaker, Grant Taylor.

Grant’s name is synonymous with Otago Pinot Noir. He has been crafting wines in the region since 1993 when there were only 20 hectares planted – today there are over 2,000. Over the past 27 years he has made the first wines for a number of iconic Otago wineries, but now the serious focus is on his own creation, Valli.

Founded in 1998, Valli produces single vineyard Pinot Noirs highlighting the different characteristics of Otago’s sub regions: Gibbston, Bannockburn and Bendigo in Central Otago and the Waitaki Valley in North Otago. In 2015, established Otago winemaker

Jen Parr joined Grant in the winery where the two aim to create wines with honesty, integrity, and most of all, a sense of place. When you drink a Valli wine, you are enjoying more than just a wine: you are experiencing a place.

Jen Parr – NZ Winemaker Of The Year 2020

Our winemaker Jen has been named the 2020 New Zealand Winemaker of the year by Australasia’s leading wine magazine Gourmet Traveller WINE. Jen was one of six finalists for the prestigious title last year as well, and received the award at a dinner at Auckland’s Grand Hotel in January.
