This year’s Rose is our preferred blend of Tempranillo and Shiraz. The Tempranillo component (~60 %) is from Geographe and Frankland River with the Shiraz all sourced from our Mount Barker vineyards. The cooler season in the Great Southern really suited the Rose as the slower ripening allowed for the development of more savoury characters in the Shiraz rather than simple, strawberry fruit characters. Once harvested, the fruit was crushed and pressed off skins immediately to limit the colour pick up. Fermenting at cool temps and bottling early retains the delicate fruit characters.

COLOUR
Bright and clear, this is a super pale pink in colour; ie a pretty “blush” pink.

AROMA
Quite complex on the nose with light perfumed fruits, an attractive ‘Cherry Ripe’ aroma and the merest hint of cocoa butter.

PALATE
This is a beautiful, light dry Rose; it has delicate fruit flavours and a surprisingly full palate. It’s subtle, cherry & white chocolate flavours are beautifully complemented by the light astringency and the gentle acidity contributes to its lightly drying finish. This wine is delicious drinking now, enjoy while young and fresh. Perfect for that cheeky lunchtime wine &/or serve with an antipasto platter.
