Pale salmon pink. Enticing aromas of orange blossom, rose, lychee and musk. Musky notes and exotic fruits carry through to the palate. Luscious, juicy sweetness is offset by bright, raspberry acidity and a gentle spritz, which adds a crisp and energetic finish.

About `Wirra Wirra Mrs Wigley Range`

Mrs. Wigley (1977-1991) was not the wife of Wirra Wirra founder Bob Wigley, but a particular pussycat that was born at the neighbouring Petrucci residence. Within days her mum had dragged the litter to settle in Wirra Wirra’s open fermenters, and from then on Mrs. Wigley became a permanent feature of the cellars.

About Wirra Wirra

Wirra Wirra vineyards established itself as one of Australia’s most recognisable and leading wineries under the watchful eye of the late Greg Trott. Trott, who sadly passed away in 2005, and his cousin Roger rebuilt the winery in 1969 from the remnants of two walls and some slate fermenting tanks.

Today Wirra Wirra Vineyards has developed a reputation for intense, beautifully crafted red wines and expressive fine whites. James Halliday has described Wirra Wirra as “…the best small to medium sized winery in McLaren Vale and right up there on a national scale”.

Whilst the production of high quality wine is a serious business, Wirra Wirra will continue to subscribe to Greg Trott’s view that wine is an essential ingredient in the enjoyment of the finer things in life – good food, good music and good conversation.

McLaren Vale is our home and where the majority of fruit is sourced for crafting Wirra Wirra’s famous red wines, but we also source premium white grapes from a select group of vineyards in the Adelaide Hills, a cooler climate grape growing region, to make an award winning sauvignon blanc, riesling and chardonnay.
