As pink as the blossoms on a cherry tree, this is a great way to welcome Spring back into our lives. A blend of 86% Shiraz, 11% Nebbiolo and 3% Sangiovese, this has been fermented mainly in stainless steel with a portion in 500-litre puncheons. Crunchy redcurrants, red apples, strawberries, raspberries and a tickle of strawberry liquorice and vanilla, this does exactly as it says on the tin and is a dry and fruity wine that works well on its own or with food. I was insufferable and had this with a pork, quinoa and green apple burger, wasabi rocket salad and dill mayonnaise but a non-pretentious burger of any sort would also work a treat. Or a fish finger sandwich on the beach, something fun and delicious, like the wine.

90/100 | Salmon-pink in colour. Ripe, red-fruited aromas, strawberry, cherry, musksticks and rose petals. Textured and nicely weighted on the palate, decent fruit-drive and grip. Plenty of strawberry and raspberry, and there’s a creaminess and richness to the flavours that works really well. Smart wine.
