LATTA Vino Tranquil Rosé Sangiovese 2022 (12 Bottles) Ballarat, Vic

$400.00

AUSTRALIA WIDE SHIPPING INCLUDED

This release of tranquil is 100% Sangiovese from our favourite original Latta vineyard source, Shays Flat in the Landsborough Valley Pyrenees (certified organic). It’s backed up with trusty Camfeild vineyard from Moonambel Pyrenees. Usually there’s Nebbiolo in this cuvée, yet due to poor flowering on the nebbiolo 2022 all went into red production.

Tranquil is produced by whole bunch pressing each site individually as well as few different batches of barrel ferment. Left to rest for a number of months on Lees, racked then bottled with a small amount of Sulphur.

The cooler longer season of 2022 resulted in an excellent prolonged ripening period, beautifully pitched acidity, excellent flavour profiles & the slightest watermark of colour from the short time on skins in the press. Pretty stoked with this years Tranquil it looks quiet but rocks loud.

About LATTA Vino

Eastern Peake is a leader in boutique wines, selling exclusively to restaurants and niche retailers nationally. With the brand new function/tasting room at the Vineyard, we welcome you to experience Eastern Peake wines in absolute surreal surroundings.

Eastern Peake Vineyards are set on a small plateau at Coghills Creek in the Ballarat Highlands some 25 km from Ballarat. A dramatic backdrop of a rugged granite outcrop of Mt Bolton, namely ‘Eastern Peake’ is to the west of the vineyard, creating the stunning view seen from the property. The east the vineyard overlooks the Mammaloid Hills of the Creswick Plains, named by Major Mitchell during his epic trail.

The Eastern Peake Vineyard was established in 1983, the first plantings being 8 acres of Pinot Noir followed by 4 acres of Chardonnay in 1991. In 1994 the decision was made to establish a winery and cellar door facility at Coghill’s Creek. The winery was completed in time for the 1995 vintage.

High Hopes Wine

High Hopes Wine Company is a wholesaler, importer and distributor of good drinks.

In 2011 a couple of guys, Ned Brooks and Joel Amos, each with a viticulturalist as a parent, bonded over a shared background in wine and a good feeling about where a niche of the wine industry was headed: the questioning of the status quo mass-produced big wines (or Big Wine) in favour of a more natural style of winemaking and grape-growing. Brooks & Amos was born, a small agency business. Many of the Australian producers we met and whose wine we loved were just starting out too.

Fast forward to today and Brooks & Amos has evolved into High Hopes Wine Company – now with Ned Brooks solely at the helm. The producers we work with remain some of the truest characters in the business. They’ve entrusted us with sharing their stories and ~ literally ~ the fruits of their labour and we’re proud to connect them with some of Australia’s best restaurants, bars and retailers.

Our product list is not encyclopaedic, ticking off one of each varietal or region. Nor is it dogmatically ‘natural’. Just a healthy respect for the grapes, the earth they’re grown from, and the craft of the vigneron. It’s what interests us, the things we want to drink.
