Delivery Information

How do I get an update on my order ?

As we are a drop ship platform and do not hold any stock, deliveries are the responsibility of each individual winery or distributors selling wine on Cellars.com.au.

Upon completing your payment transaction, the winery or distributor is automatically sent your order via email . We confirm with the smaller wineries the order has been received to ensure customers are happy.

In most cases, wines are dispatched from each individual winery or wine distributor within 24 hours of receiving your order. Once the wine is despatched from the winery cellar door or warehouse, you will receive an email confirming the date of despatch, tracking number and shipping provider (Australia Post, Fastway, etc). During busy periods, despatch may take longer depending on the winery. Delivery time from dispatch remains the responsibility of each individual winery yet are typically 7 to 10 days. In some cases, the winery itself will make the deliveries. And yes, the winery staff enjoy it as they get to meet you 🙂

Why do some orders take longer than others ?

Deliveries from wineries in one state to you in another state can take up to 10-12 days. Major courier carriers including Australia Post do have  delays depending on where you are located.

Shipping rates are provided to Cellars.com.au by the wineries and passed to our customers at cost. It does happen that wines can be damaged in transit and if so, we will notify you. If you provide an incorrect shipping address at the time of order, please contact us directly. Where possible, please include a mobile phone number of the person receiving the wine so Australia Post or the courier can contact you.

Who can accept the wine delivery if I am not available?

All wineries on Cellars.com.au are required by law to adhere to Responsible Service of Alcohol guidelines and deliveries will only be made to persons over the age of 18 years. If there is any doubt about the age of the recipient on delivery, Australia Post or courier delivery drivers must ask for photographic ID. If that recipient is unable to produce appropriate ID, then the delivery driver will be unable to leave the wine.

Do you have same day delivery?

No. As wines are packed and shipped from each individual winery, same day shipping is not possible. It is important to also remember that deliveries can range from 5 to 10 days depending on couriers and shipping destination. You may wish to choose a winery that is closer to the shipping / delivery address as that will, in most cases, lead to shorter delivery times.

Can I have wines delivered outside of Australia?

No. All deliveries are only within Australia. While some of the wineries have export licences, Cellars.com.au do not have an export licence.

Do you deliver everywhere in Australia?

Mostly. Wineries and wine distributors listing wines on Cellars.com.au have the option of where they ship to. The wineries listed on Cellars.com.au will note where they will not deliver to. If your order is placed and the winery will not process the order, we will notify you and refund your payment.
