Around the same time that Barossa Boy Wines was launched, little Tilly, the Boy’s first child, was born.

The Cheeky Tilly spends minimal time in tank , bottled early to retain varietal freshness.

Crisp and bright, zinging with acidity and lemon-and-lime sunshine, this is the epitome of a ‘cheeky Riesling’ to share with loved ones. This Riesling is a tribute to the wild-haired, spirited girl and all her stories yet to be told.

The 2020 vintage will be known for its contrasting weather patterns, from cold spring nights and a dry summer. The cooler growing season slowed ripening resulting in higher acid in white wines.

Fruit is sourced from the Barossa’s Eden Valley, where the cooler climate offers the slow ripening under which Riesling’s flavours really bloom.

Bright yellow hues with an enticing aroma of brown lime and lemon zest. A crisp and bright palate, zinging with acidity and lemon-and-lime sunshine, this is the epitome of a ‘cheeky Riesling’ to share with loved ones. Great acid with a long, livley finish. A dry Riesling with a full flavoured palate and lingering acidity.

Barossa Boy

His family’s history in the Barossa Valley goes back to 1855 when his great-great-great grandfather John Burge immigrated to South Australia. He began work as a winemaker, and every generation since has followed. Winemaking is well and truly in the Burge blood.

A sixth generation Barossa winemaker, our founder Trent Burge grew up in and on Barossa soil.

Riding trail bikes around the vineyards, playing local cricket and footy, he had dirt under his nails and Barossa blood in his veins.

The boy has grown to craft new stories in wine. Barossa Boy is his passion project; his heart worn proudly on his sleeve. Tales of generational wisdom and legendary old vines are blended with fresh perspective and a worldly, modern palate. Barossa Boy wines are devoted to the ultimate expression of the Barossa region’s signature varieties and distinctive characters.

Each vintage brings the anticipation of a new chapter, and the opportunity to bottle the season’s tale from bud to harvest.
