The 2023 Battles Blendaberg is made up of Riesling, Gewürztraminer and Pinot Grigio and sourced from the Swinney Vineyard in Frankland River. It shows pronounced aromas of kaffir lime, lemongrass and a floral orange blossom lift. Intense fruit characters of grapefruit, mandarin and a delicate ginger spice note. Lingering and long, with an upfront texture to the wine. There is a nice balance between the salivating acid and powerful fruit intensity.

About Battles Wines

Battles is a collaboration between Lance Parkin, Ex-Houghton winemaker and Kris Ambrozkiewicz, Rockpool Perth Sommelier, former winemaker and Vinous Matters sales rep.

This is merely their second vintage under their own label and thus far have quickly developed a strong following for their characterful wines that show poise and complexity.

A strong idea to work with left of centre, as well as more classic varieties the ethos is to create wines which reflect the great vineyards and regions in which they are grown.
