An Old School blend of Shiraz and Cabernet, made with New School winemaking. The blend consists of 60% Shiraz from Frankland River and 40% Cabernet from the Jolliffe vineyard in Wilyabrup. Both wines were picked and wild fermented separately, extended time on skins and basket pressed to French oak (20% new) for 10 months. Bottled unfined and unfiltered.
Ruby red colour. A savoury wine with aromas of cherry, blue fruit, charcuterie, nutmeg and lifted floral notes. Juicy and bright fruit from the Shiraz is supported by the tannin framework from the Cabernet, making for a textured and well-structured wine.

Black Cocky Wines focuses on showcasing alternate varieties and styles from the South West of WA.
In the winery we draw inspiration from our namesake, the Black Cockatoo by creating wines that are fun, vibrant and bold. Fruit is sourced from some of the most premium vineyards in the South West, with preference for growers who farm sustainably. In the winery the fruit is handled gently, typically using wild or indigenous yeasts with no fining or filtration.
