The Brookland Valley Verse 1 Cabernet Merlot shows the terrific quality which is synonymous with this blend in Margaret River. Supple, elegant and flavoursome it shows excellent length and structure.

Winemaker’s Notes

Selected vineyard parcels sourced from across the Margaret River region were machine harvested, destemmed into static red fermenters and then inoculated for fermentation. The ferments were routinely pumped over to extract flavour, colour and tannin. Following pressing at dryness, the wines underwent malolactic fermentation, before 10 months French oak maturation. The resultant wine parcels were then blended, fined and bottled.

Tasting Notes

Dense dark red in appearance with a bright scarlet hue. Bright and fresh fruit aromatics of cassis, blackberry and plum, with bay leaf, cassia bark and chocolate box nuances. A fresh palate with fruit flavours of plum, cassis and cherry combined with liquorice and subtle toasted vanillin oak. Medium-bodied with firm tannins carrying the sweet fruit and oak with lovely structure and flavoursome finish.

Rich red meat dishes such as osso bucco, a gourmet cheese platter, or a mushroom ragu.
