A blend of 46% Grenache, 44% Shiraz and 10% Mataro matured in a combination of new and seasoned oak hogsheads. Very deep black dark red colour with a dark red hue. Heady dark raspberry, liquorice and dark plum aromas fill the nostrils with some earthy dark chocolate and vanillin spice notes also chiming in. Rich, plump and concentrated, the medium to full bodied palate is swamped with dark plum, liquorice and dark raspberry fruits with some dark chocolate and earthy vanillin like characters lurking beneath. Fleshy mouth feel and polished tannins with a long spicy, deeply fruited and opulent conclusion. Great value.

About Bud Burst Wines

Joe Lenck has been working in the wine industry for over 30 years.
“Budburst was always a bit of a dream, but then Covid hit and lockdowns came”.

“I was in my late 50s and my Job of selling wine to Restaurants, was made redundant. I decided the time was right to create the wine club type business that I’ve always wanted. I had nothing to lose”

The 90’s were my foundation years and after completing my Diploma in Hotel Management, I worked as a Sommelier, managed a wine store and also coordinated a wine club, with over 2000 members. For the past 20 years I have been working for wine companies in a sales capacity. It’s been a journey that has allowed me to work with some of Australia’s best wine portfolios, conversing directly with Sommeliers, Winemakers, Vignerons, Wine Directors and Retailers, everyday of the week.

I used to write for the Wine Club back in the old days and loved it. In 2015, I decided to start writing again, by creating an Instagram profile @Lenckdrank and before I knew it, there were more than 15 thousand people following and engaging with my wine stories and reviews, from all parts of the globe. I felt it was a natural transition to establish the BudBurst Wine Collective in 2020, as an avenue for my friends to easily access the wines I personally enjoyed and wrote about.

Starting Budburst has been so much fun and it’s turned out to be the best Job I’ve ever had. We’ve had awesome events, tasted amazing wines and I’ve met so many great people both in person and online. Along the way, more than 10,000 bottles have also passed through my little warehouse as well.
