This wine was grown at our Bridge Creek Vineyard, Orange, NSW, at 880m altitude, and is our first Chardonnay release from this site. Vines were cropped lowly in the cool 2022 growing season producing beautiful, clean fruit with wonderful cool-climate acidity.

Reserve Bridge Creek Chardonnay is a celebration of our elevated vineyard in Orange and tends to be a very pure expression of Chardonnay with wonderful elegance and acidity. Traditional winemaking techniques are used to enhance complexity and balance, and only the best barrels make it into the final blend.

The growing season was cooler than average producing citrussy flavours and excellent natural acid retention.

Whole bunch pressing followed by wild fermentation of high solids juice in top quality French oak barrels has added spice, grilled cashew, biscuit, and chicken stock aromas to the citrus and stone fruit core. The finely honed and pure palate has fantastic citrus, grapefruit and nectarine flavours together with supporting textural interest. An elegant, energetic, focused and complex cool-climate Chardonnay style that partners well with coq au vin, roast chicken and veal. Great drinking now, but will gain further harmony in time.
