About Domaine Asmara
Set against a tranquil backdrop, Domaine Asmara is more than a winery; it embodies a lifelong aspiration. Winemaker Andreas, the driving force behind this venture, has always felt a profound bond with the land and a strong desire to create something significant from it.

Fueled by his enthusiasm for wine and the complex art of winemaking, Andreas is committed to crafting outstanding wines. His day begins early as he strolls through the vineyard, evaluating the vines and nurturing them at every growth stage. From witnessing the buds bloom to meticulously timing the harvest, he approaches each phase with precision, patience, and care.

For Andreas, winemaking blends science and artistry. His background as a Chemical Engineer, paired with his passion for the craft, propels his quest for excellence. After gaining experience worldwide, destiny led him to Indonesia, where he met his wife Henni, a dentist. Together, they enjoy a fulfilling life with their 17-year-old son, Benjamin.

The name “Domaine Asmara” draws inspiration from the Indonesian word Asmara, meaning “love and passion”—principles that lie at the heart of their work. This winery is a true labor of love, and Andreas and Henni warmly welcome visitors to share in their journey.

At Domaine Asmara, the focus extends beyond producing exceptional wine; it’s about conveying the passion that goes into every bottle.

Domaine Asmara in Heathcote, VIC

At Domaine Asmara, we are known for our small range of premium red and white wines. We spend our days tending our vines by hand. There's no machine intervention here (except for a pair of secateurs if you can call that a machine). The only thing that intervenes is Mother Nature and you could say our wine is bio-dynamic
