100% Cabernet Franc, grown on tufa (chalky limestone). Fermented in concrete vats and aged in seasoned oak for 12 months. Saumur Puy-Notre-Dame appellation.

Ruby colour, this is deep. Aromas of violets, jammy fruit, black forest berries and a broad spice spectrum. An impression of just-ripeness, not green but a finely tread balance which makes this quiet captivating. Awesome length and mineral energy.

About Domaine de l’Enchantoir Wines

Nestled in the heart of Saumur, Le Puy Notre-Dame, classified as a village of character and charm, has been a land of vines since the 16th century. Since the beginning of the 19th century, the estate has known several generations of winegrowers to exploit its clay-limestone lands. The richness of tuffeau in these soils is conducive to the production of characterful wines renowned for their richness, delicacy and complexity.

The Estate extends over 17ha where our Chenin, Chardonnay and Cabernet Franc vines, traditional grape varieties in Saumur, flourish. We cultivate our vines in accordance with tradition to preserve the richness of our terroir and constantly improve the quality of our vintages.

All our wines are certified Appellation d’Origine Contrôlée (AOC) and have been certified “organic agriculture” under the Ecocert label since 2016. The typicality of our terroir is also recognized with its appellation “Saumur Puy Notre Dame” for our red wines.

Our wines are then aged and preserved at the estate in the historic courtyard of the property, classified as a remarkable monument, where we combine traditional know-how and modern technologies to produce our wines.

From the courtyard you can access part of the network of troglodytes, these underground tunnels which wind through the entire territory of Puy Notre-Dame and which allow optimal storage and conservation of our wines.
