Chardonnay grapes for the Willliam Fevre Petit Chablis are sourced principally from the commune of Lignorelles, northeast of Chablis township. Grapes are also sourced from various plots around the Chablis environs, including Sur Les Clos, directly uphill from the Grand Cru Les Clos.

The 2021 Chablis Vintage was impacted by early frosts that devastated the resulting yields but not the quality. The wines produced in 2021 are superb, somewhat aristocratic, nervy with direct saline minerality and pure fruit expression.

Clear pale lemon and lime. Very pretty bouquet, a relief after the hotter style of recent years. Quite floral, then some lemon fruit, medium bodied, citrus behind with quite a mineral finish, fine stones for a petit chablis. Drink from 2023-2025.” 4 Stars (86-88) Jasper Morris MW, Inside Burgundy

“A moderately fruity nose reflects notes of lemongrass and enough Chablis character to be attractive. There is solid concentration to the nicely detailed yet rich flavors that deliver better than average complexity on the saline, dry and lingering finale. This is really quite a good Petit Chablis.” 88-91pts – Burghound

About William Fevre

One of the greatest domaines in Chablis. Founded by William Fevre in 1957, its vineyard holdings include 12 hectares of premier cru and 16 hectares of grand Cru vines. The domaines fruit is harvested by hand, a rarity in Chablis, and rigorously sorted at the winery to ensure the highest quality.

In recent times the amount of new oak used has been cut back and today the average age of the barrels in the cellar is five years. From the Petit Chablis to the domaines six Grand Cru wines, the quality is superb and the range from Domaine William Fevre is a benchmark for the wines of the region.
