The Dormilona Semillon shows that Margaret River’s comparisons to Bordeaux are justified with this bright and focused white wine.

Situated in a stunning area north of WA’s Margaret River, the Yungarra vineyard is renowned for producing excellent fruit. This Semillon was fermented with five days of skin contact, which adds some more flavour, texture and phenolic grip in the finished wine. It then spent some time in large-format barrels, but the oakiness is subtle.

Bright stone and citrus fruits and blossom with some pastry notes from the lees contact will develop beautifully over a few years, while the acid and minerality are zingy and will maintain the freshness.

About Dormilona

Josephine Perry is one of the most exciting emerging producers in Margaret River. Her Dormilona label is setting a new tone for the region.

A self-confessed ‘lazy-bones’ winemaker, Jo is low-intervention in the winery, instead focusing her energies on the quality of fruit that she brings in the winery.

She uses only organically and biodynamically farmed fruit from high-quality vineyards across Margaret River and is bringing an alt-styling to the way she produces the hero varieties of this famous region.

These are Margaret River wines with flair and originality. From vineyard to glass, Jo handcrafts each wine with love and tender hands. An authentic producer who’s rightfully gaining plenty of attention.

Fine Wine Cellars

On the one hand, our role as a merchant of all things wine & spirits could not be simpler. We aim to source the most delicious, the most authentic, and the highest quality products possible from Australia and around the world in order to offer them to our clients. We live or die by how well we perform this task. Of course things are rarely as simple or as easy as they seem. Hunting for wines & spirits is no different. Apart from the months spent travelling, countless days and evenings spent tasting and the outrageous wine expenditure in the name of ‘research’, sourcing quality wine and spirits requires expertise and experience. Understanding the potential of a producer and their products is much more than just a slurp and a spit.
