Tempranillo is one of Jo Perry’s favourite varieties.

The whole Dormilona operation is inspired by the Spanish ‘lazy-bones’ way of life. It is only fitting that she makes a Pet Nat from one of her ‘pet’ varieties. This is the Teacher’s Pet… It’s here to please.

It’s a spicy, saucy little Pet Nat where bubbles and spice and bright red fruits combine into a joyful drink that’s built for the sunshine and surf.

Jo’s really got her eye in with these styles of sparkling. If you love Pet Nat, Teacher’s Pet is going to be your new best mate.

About Dormilona Wines

Since taking on a long-term lease at Yungarra Estate in Yallingup with her viticulturalist partner Jim, Jo Perry has certainly been reaping the rewards from this site. Earlier this year we released the utterly delicious Blanco and Pinku wines sourced from this site. If the quality of these two little beauties and the latest releases below is anything to go by, this could turn out to be one of the best decisions the Dormilona team have ever made.

In the lead up to vintage 22, a cool spring was followed by a warm and dry summer that, in Dormilona’s case, resulted in wines of beautiful ripeness and remarkable freshness, depth and purity. Although the vintage conditions were good and the quality of wines produced impressive, Western Australian winemakers had a pretty rough run in 2022. Closed borders meant that the logistical side of things proved even more challenging than usual – and that’s saying something! The WA wine community had to pull out all the stops to get through, onya team!

Today’s 2022 release includes the never-around-for-a-long-time Chenin, the classic springtime Skinnie (amphora Sauvignon we all know and love), the fresh and juicy little Rojo, the slightly skinsy Semillon and a couple of Pet Nats for good measure. As usual, all the fruit is certified organic and managed by Jim. Everything has been nurtured into the bottle with a lot of Jo Perry love, and there have been no additions other than a little sulphur.

Fine Wine Cellars

On the one hand, our role as a merchant of all things wine & spirits could not be simpler. We aim to source the most delicious, the most authentic, and the highest quality products possible from Australia and around the world in order to offer them to our clients. We live or die by how well we perform this task. Of course things are rarely as simple or as easy as they seem. Hunting for wines & spirits is no different. Apart from the months spent travelling, countless days and evenings spent tasting and the outrageous wine expenditure in the name of ‘research’, sourcing quality wine and spirits requires expertise and experience. Understanding the potential of a producer and their products is much more than just a slurp and a spit.
