This bottling is sourced from a selection of sites in Lorch―including Lorcher, Kappellenberg, Krone and Bodental―all of which have grey slate and quartzite soils. Vinification was entirely in stainless steel with seven months’ maturation on lees.

“Super-flinty with stacks of Amalfi lemon and nutty apple in the very youthful nose, this is an excellent village wine. Sleek and filigree, with staggering wet-stone minerality. It is at the lower limit of medium-bodied, but with a very long, diamond-bright finish. Excellent aging potential!” 94 points, Stuart Pigott, James Suckling

About Eva Fricke

Coming from a non-wine background Eva Fricke has laid the foundation to new Riesling dynasty on the rocky, south-facing slopes of the Rheingau.

Global wine-trotting under her belt, she worked at the famed Leitz Estate, and began to acquire her own vineyards in the Lorcher region with the Rheingau.

Organic, low intervention, old vines, and all the care in the world – the recipe for gorgeous wine and sustainable success.

Eva’s holy grail is to capture her site’s potential balance between ripeness, salinity and acidity. Her transparent, ever-evolving winemaking approach includes wild yeast fermentation, long, slow pressing and plenty of time on lees, always geared to capture the mineral personality and trademark salinity of the region, without ever compromising on terroir-driven fruit expression.

Fine Wine Cellars

On the one hand, our role as a merchant of all things wine & spirits could not be simpler. We aim to source the most delicious, the most authentic, and the highest quality products possible from Australia and around the world in order to offer them to our clients. We live or die by how well we perform this task. Of course things are rarely as simple or as easy as they seem. Hunting for wines & spirits is no different. Apart from the months spent travelling, countless days and evenings spent tasting and the outrageous wine expenditure in the name of ‘research’, sourcing quality wine and spirits requires expertise and experience. Understanding the potential of a producer and their products is much more than just a slurp and a spit.
