At Feathertop we like to say we make Sauvignon Blanc for grown-ups. We’ve never been massive fans of the over-blown ‘fruit-bombs’ that have flooded the market over the last 15 years. Our aim is to produce a ‘Savvie’ with elegance, complexity of flavour and drinkability and we think we have hit that mark again with our 2021 version. This year, we harvested the Sauvignon Blanc on 2 picking days a week apart.

The earlier pick provided the zesty flavours of citrus and green apple with a pronounced backbone of crisp natural acidity. The later pick, courtesy of an extra week maturing on the vines, provided the more perfumed, tropical characters of passionfruit and ripe melons along with heightened texture and palate weight.

The end result is a harmonious marriage of complex fruit flavours and textured mouthfeel, entwined in a mesh of vibrant acidity that leaves the palate clean and dry.

The Feather in Cap range is produced by Aramis Vineyards.

Aramis Vineyards lay delicately inland from the acclaimed southern beaches of South Australia. We are proudly part of the world renowned McLaren Vale wine region, and enjoy the seasonal benefits of this coastal climate, producing sharply focussed wine with layered textures, flavours and spice.

All of our small batch varieties are traditionally crafted, using traditional, labour-intensive processes and maturation in the best French and American oak barrels. We are passionately invested throughout every step of our winemaking, and delight in knowing that enjoying our wines is an experience not forgotten.

Expressing the character and charm of our vineyard site is at the heart of everything we do at Aramis Vineyards. Our desire is to tell the story of our own place in the world – McLaren Vale – our mandate to create the ultimate expression of the region, the ‘first growth’, the best of the best.

We focus on the classic varietals of South Australia, those best suited to our terroir and to the creation of fine, full-bodied red wines – Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon. A combination of meticulous viticulture and traditional, minimal intervention winemaking ensure our wines are given the chance to articulate every nuance of their unique heritage, exuding a true sense of place and their story from vine to bottle.

L’Atelier by Aramis Vineyards was founded in 2012, dedicated to supplying a hand-selected range of quality wines to the independent on and off trade. From small beginnings we now operate across NSW, QLD, VIC and WA as well as in our home state of South Australia. Our distribution company was founded on our absolute belief that there was nobody better to represent our McLaren Vale brand than our own team. From that point our mission was clear - to bring together a collection of wine that would complement and match the quality of our own, and to present these to premium retail and hospitality trade across Australia. We believe in working collaboratively with carefully selected producers from Australia and beyond, each sharing the same passion and commitment to quality. Inspired by the Ateliers of 19th century Paris, we see ourselves as a meeting place for highly talented craftspeople at the top of their trade.
