86 % Cabernet Sauvignon, 6% Petit Verdot, 5 % Cabernet Franc, 3% Malbec.

A fuller structured palate this year where elegance is still the dominant theme with some jubyness yet also feels dry and dusty. Ripe mulberry and blueberries are the predominant flavour with baking spice fine-grained graphite tannins and a long pencilly finish. A bold expression that will need time to flourish.

Awards and Reviews

“A hedonistic red of elegance and refinement that delivers strong and worthy regional character. Fresh and bright, tightly wound and succulent, this is a hedonistic red of elegance and refinement that delivers strong and worthy regional character. Displaying characters of red and blue fruits, sage and bay leaf notes along with woody spice, there’s an overriding feeling of freshness, supported by beautiful tension and a great extension of flavour. A wonderful expression.”
-Top 25, The West Australian Good Food Guide

“This is predominantly cabernet but smaller percentages of petit verdot, cabernet franc and malbec contribute. Powerful and controlled cabernet displaying a lot of the black fruit character of this part of Margaret River. On the nose you get a terrific mix of bay leaf, black olive and varietal blackcurrant. There’s a pronounced oyster shell minerality bursting through supported by a chalky tannin feel. Integrated and vibrant, it’s a wine of energy and drive.”

“Lovely, lifted aromas of bramble, dried herbs, blackberry, menthol, spice and blackcurrant. Classic Margaret River cab aromatics. The palate is mid-weight, beautifully balanced and pure. Cassis, mulberry, blackberry, cedar and wild thyme are all at play. The oak is creamy, structured and frames the fruit superbly and the acidity delivers freshness and drive. Tannins are granular, layered and savoury. A very complete cabernet.”
-The Real Review, 95 pts

“As usual, a tiptop Parterre with enticing florals giving way to mulberries and boysenberries, dried herbs, choc-mint and more besides. It’s medium-bodied and wonderfully savoury with powdery tannins and great length. And it will age gracefully.”
-Jane Faulkner, Halliday Wine Companion, 95 pts

“Beautifully fragrant red showing aromas of currants, plums, wild cherries, chocolate, hazelnuts and rosemary. Soft and creamy, with polished, very fine tannins and a medium to full body. Long and elegant. 86% cabernet sauvignon, 6% petit verdot, 5% cabernet franc and 3% malbec. Drink or hold.”

About Fraser Gallop Estate Wines

Established in 1999, Fraser Gallop Estate comprises 50 acres under vine on an elevated aspect six kilometres from the south west coast of Western Australia at the heart of the Wilyabrup sub-region of Margaret River.

The region’s pristine isolation beside the Indian Ocean; the maritime climate; and our vineyard’s undulating topography provide the ideal conditions in which to grow Bordeaux and Burgundy grape varieties.

The wines of Fraser Gallop Estate are intensely flavoured, textured and complex. Our focus is on Cabernet, Chardonnay and Semillon and Sauvignon Blanc blends. Only the finest quality French oak barrels are used for all Fraser Gallop Estate wines, with very specific Bordelais coopers used for the Cabernet Sauvignon and Semillon Sauvignon Blanc blends, and Burgundian coopers for the Chardonnay. The complete winemaking process takes place at the estate – picking to vinification to barrel maturation to bottling to cellaring. Fraser Gallop Estate is an estate grown, produced and bottled wine.
