About Gooree Park Wines

As one of the Mudgee Region’s historic properties, Gooree Park has developed over the years to become a renowned world class thoroughbred breeding and training facility. It is also well known to have the largest vineyards in the district, producing the “thoroughbred of wines”, which are available at our on-site and Mudgee town cellar doors.

Filipino Businessman, Eduardo Cojuangco Jr, purchased the then well-known Gooree Stud property along with other historic properties of Cullenbone, Biraganbil, and Galambine, to form an agglomeration known as Gooree Park. Through his ongoing stewardship and passion, Mr. Cojuangco developed the properties into the enterprise it is today, expanding Gooree Stud’s original breeding operations into the development of quality thoroughbred racehorses; pastoral interests such as the highly sought-after Wagyu cattle, sheep, and cropping; and of course, over 400 hectares of vineyards, producing premium wines.

In his later years, Mr. Cojuangco’s thoroughbred breeding program produced 5 homebred stallions within 10 years. Of them two have been included in the Top 20 General Sires in Australia (Smart Missile and Hallowed Crown); and two have been awarded the prestigious First Season Sire of the Year (Northern Meteor and Smart Missile). His passion for breeding quality racehorses along with his team of highly educated and experienced advisors made his visions a reality.

Since the passing of Mr. Cojuangco in mid 2020, his family has embraced his legacy and opened Gooree Park’s doors to commercial thoroughbred operations. Gooree is known to have bred and raced some of the toughest racehorses in Australia, having produced “war horse” Desert War, the late Northern Meteor, and Crowned Glory – to name a few. Now, we offer our clients the opportunity to agist their horses in our beautiful signature rolling hills at over 400 meters above sea level, to give their thoroughbreds the unique “Foundation Of Champions” Gooree Park is known for.

Our magnificently picturesque property lined with its stately trees and iconic white post and rail fencing dotting the horizon, is located just 10 minutes away from historic Mudgee’s town center, and approximately 4 hours away from Sydney.
