The fruit for the Hedonist Shiraz comes from our estate grown certified organic/biodynamic vineyard in the Willunga foothills, as well as from various organic and biodynamic vineyards in the Sellicks Foothills, Blewitt Springs and Kangarilla – all from vastly different soil profiles and aspects across the McLaren Vale district.

Deep red with purple hues

Overtly aromatic, starting with cocoa scent, through tapenade to whispers of violet and lavender perfume.

Generous and complex. Fine powdery tannins support the structure while augmenting the ensuing surge of fruit.

About The Hedonist Wines

A dynamic trio – the winemaking team consists of Walter Clappis, a veteran winemaker of 36 vintages, daughter, Kimberly and her partner James Cooter. Walter’s experience and wisdom plus the energy and enthusiasm of the new generation, has created the perfect balance in the winery. All the wines reflect a purity which is consistent with the Winemakers and their philosophies.

Our wines are made using certified biodynamic and organic vineyards and winemaking practices. The Hedonist vineyard is located in the Willunga foothills of McLaren Vale. The idyllic St Vincent’s Gulf lies 5km to the West. The soil is rich loam over clay with patches of underlying limestone.
