Complex and earthy with lifted cedar and berry fruit. The Petit Verdot adds extra body with great tobacco characters from the Merlot. An excellent finish with ripe tannins and background oak. Richly coloured with berries, cherry and chocolate. Our Bordeaux blend of 66% Cabernet, 29% Merlot and 5% Petit Verdot is a real treat with bloody beef, rich sauces and earthy veg.

Our Hannaford label pays tribute to Ellen Louise Hannaford and all the pioneering souls who settle our region. Ellen was granted the land on which the Indigo Vineyard sits in 1929 by King George V., of Great Britain, Ireland and the British Dominion beyond the Seas King Defender of the Faith Emperor of India. We know little of her family and the life she led on this land. We acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of the Land on which our vineyard grows. We pay respect to their Elders past and present.

About Indigo Vineyard Wines

The Indigo Vineyard is located near the hamlet of Everton in the foothills of the Victorian Alps. The region enjoys beautiful views, fine dining, wonderful local produce, historic Beechworth streetscapes and is recognised for outstanding Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon.

The hot days and cool nights, granitic sand and clay loam soils and a location in foothills of the Victorian Alps combine to create an amazing terroir for growing super premium grapes.

Located between Beechworth and Wangaratta, the Indigo Vineyard has 46 hectares planted to 11 different varieties of grapes.

The vineyard soils range from granitic sands to clay loams. Most of the vineyard is undulating North-South and East facing. This ensures maximum light interception, but minimises the harsh afternoon summer sun.
