The majority of the fruit is sourced from the Ryan Road Vineyard, a site James started working with in 2020. It’s managed by Dave Gartlemann, sits at 60 metres elevation and is home to 44-year-old vines.

It’s a rock-rich site, the soils are silty sand over red clay, interspersed with schist and ironstone. The fruit is destemmed and spends one month on skins before being pressed to stainless steel.

It was blended with the pressings from the Lillies and Wood vineyards and bottled after eight months.

About Jauma Wines

The Audrey’s Fairygarten is a bright and juicy iteration of Shiraz with the signature Jauma charisma.

It’s certainly a unique wine, and probably not what you might expect from a McLaren Vale Shiraz. It goes through carbonic maceration, with the berries fermenting in their little grape bodies to bring a bright, vibrant and lively expression of this variety.

Pops of dark cherries, earthy hints and grainy tannin show themselves off, with a crunch of acidity thanks to the early-picked fruit. Chuck it in the fridge or esky if you’re feeling frisky.

Fine Wine Cellars

On the one hand, our role as a merchant of all things wine & spirits could not be simpler. We aim to source the most delicious, the most authentic, and the highest quality products possible from Australia and around the world in order to offer them to our clients. We live or die by how well we perform this task. Of course things are rarely as simple or as easy as they seem. Hunting for wines & spirits is no different. Apart from the months spent travelling, countless days and evenings spent tasting and the outrageous wine expenditure in the name of ‘research’, sourcing quality wine and spirits requires expertise and experience. Understanding the potential of a producer and their products is much more than just a slurp and a spit.
