Wine Notes
Cool-climate Adelaide Hills shiraz fruit lends itself perfectly to our elegant syrah style. Inclusion of 10% whole bunch and extended post-ferment maceration has resulted in a wine of defined structure and finesse. A delicate yet powerful wine, careful use of seasoned French oak complements the weight of the fruit, and blends effortlessly into a long finish.
Vineyard
This Vineyard sits atop a wind swept ridge at just under 350m above sea level. The shallow rocky soil, non- irrigated dry farming and harsh conditions forces these vines to dig deep. Cropping at a mere 0.5 tonne per acre, the result are ultra concentrated, small berries which reflect the vineyard site.
Food Pairing
Try pairing this elegant wine with roasted eggplant stuffed with minced lamb and spices. A creamy lemon spiked tahini dressing is the perfect foil to the complex spice accord of this wine.
Cellaring
Drinking beautifully now but will reward the patient for the next 10-12 years.
