Our 2021 vintage is a testament to near-perfect conditions in the Adelaide Hills. The season began with excellent spring rainfall, nourishing the vines just as they needed. Any summer showers were gently dispersed by mild breezes, which also kept disease pressure at bay. The mild spring created ideal conditions for early flowering, setting the stage for an exceptional vintage. From veraison through to harvest, our vineyard enjoyed below-average but dry temperatures, allowing for an extended ripening period that contributed to extraordinarily complex fruit flavors. The slow, even development of sugars and excellent acid retention during this period has resulted in a wine of remarkable balance and depth.

This Nebbiolo greets the eye with a stunning light cherry-red hue, its brilliance highlighted by a clear, shimmering rim. On the nose, you’ll be enveloped by the rich aroma of steeped Maraschino cherries, intertwined with notes of musk and fragrant potpourri. Tipping their hat to the family’s matriarch, Tarquinia “Queenie” Saturno, they produce meticulous examples of traditional Northern Italian wines and focus their food around all regions of their spiritual homeland.

Embracing the rituals of making tomato pasta sauce, curing meats and pickling vegetables, the Saturno’s are passionate about sharing their history with their customers.
